4.8.6 Summary

Six thinking hats are literally six types of thinking. It is very useful to be applied by all kind of organisations. It combines important characteristics such as: Parallel thinking at work, unbundling thinking, separating ego and performance, switching modes, increased awareness etc. It is very simple and can be easily implemented. Do not forget to wear your hats during implementation!

In this module you have learnt about a simple but useful creative technique. You have seen that the “Six thinking hats” technique is a fruitful tool for generating ideas by making people focus on a particular perspective/ approach one at a time. You should now be able to describe the implementation procedure and give some examples. You should also be able to use the method on one of your own problem in your working environment.
