Quality management identifies a number of management principles that can be applied by top management to lead their organisations towards improved performance. Main principles1 include:

  • Customer focus
  • Leadership
  • Involvement of people
  • Process approach
  • System approach
  • Continual improvement
  • Factual approach to decision making
  • Mutually beneficial supplier relationships

Please stop and think: which principles out of the above ones do you follow in your work systematically and which in an ad hoc way? What do they exactly mean, and what are the benefits of applying them?
